Prem dons many creative hats — director, actor, script writer and a couple more. Having emerged to create a niche for himself, he is back to showcase his acting skills in Prem Adda. "I am facing the camera after five years," he said.

Prem Adda created a lot of hungama from the time it was launched till they announced the release date. There were a lot of controversies surrounding the title which finally got settled after nine months. "It was a successful battle. I got what I wanted," said Prem who further added, "We fought to  have the title only because I wanted every one to respect the efforts of ‘creative minds’. This was an issue which could have been solved long ago. But there was a lot of political game in between. However the new committee of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce handled the case very well."

Prem Adda is a remake of the Tamil film, Subramanyapura and according to the actor, this film is completely different. “At least, forty per cent of the film has been changed. We have  included five songs and brought in the commercial angle to match our nativity. Though the Tamil version got a U/A, the remake was certified with an A. I did discuss this with the censor board and they said that the decision was made keeping our people in mind," he revealed.

Be it the locations or colourful costumes, the film reels us back to the 80s. "We specially got all the costumes stitched to match the 80s look. Even the weapons used take us back to those days. Except for the glam songs of Aindrita Ray and Scarlet Wilson, everything else is retro," he explained.

Prem will now be directing actor and director Sudeep. The details of the project will be announced on December 31. However, he explained that the project won't take off soon. "I have a few things lined up with Soundarya Jagadish. Apart from that, I also have two to three commitments. Right now, I am just waiting for the release of Prem Adda," he explained.

As a director, he is slowly expanding himself to direct in three languages. "Back then, I got an offer to direct my films Excuse Me and Jogi in Telugu, which I did not consider because I could not understand the Telugu slang that the heroes spoke. I have taken them up now because Sudeep is from our place and we understand and respect each others skillset," he said.
