To Heal, Tap That Energy Within

A look into the many benefits of pranic healing through the eyes of healer Sangeeta Prabhakar, who offers solutions to health woes both physical and psychological
To Heal, Tap That Energy Within

American physicist Robert C Peale had once quoted, “The best and most efficient pharmacy is within your own system.” Allopathy might be the most widely practised form of medicine today, but time and again people have shown immense faith in alternative healing techniques for its minimal side effects. Pranic healing, which uses prana (energy) to cure ailments by manipulating the body’s energy fields, adds a new dimension to alternative treatment as it looks for a solution within.

A leading practitioner of pranic healing in India is Chennai resident Sangeeta Prabhakar, who took to it after reaping its benefits herself. Pranic healing, Sangeetha says, is a way of life, an ancient science that upholds the belief that the human body is not only physical and visible; there is a part of it that it is not easily visible and it is called the energy body or the aura. And, healing can be done by cleaning the energy body and increasing the life force (prana) on the affected part(s) and on the entire body.

She adds, “Pranic healing is not intended to replace allopathic medicine but to complement it. People have reported to have healed much faster than usual with its application. It also helps in dealing with financial, emotional, relationship, psychological problems, addictions and more.” One has to help oneself in pranic healing by learning it and practising it to find a solution to his or her woes.

Rediscovered by Master Choa Kok Sui (MCKS), his another gift to alternative healing practices is arhatic yoga, an advanced meditational technique, that proportionally balances aspects of universal love, intelligence and the will. It is derived from the word arhat that means a ‘highly evolved being’. With regular practice of arhatic yoga one can achieve inner peace, clarity of thought and accelerated spiritual evolution. Arhatic meditations helped Sangeetha realise her sole purpose which according to Choa Kok Sui, is itself a service to humanity.

The 46-year-old healer has experienced tremendous tranformation in her life. Sangeetha was an asthma patient, who took to pranic healing at the age of 28 and in a short span she was completely healed of it.

As a managing trustee of MCKS Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Foundation Trust, Tamil Nadu, her goals are to achieve the vision of Choa Kok Sui, among which is—one pranic healer per family. Learning pranic healing comprises several levels—pranic healing level I, advanced pranic healing level II, pranic psychotherapy level III. There are a few more advanced levels and it culminates with learning to practice arhatic yoga. Most of the courses are of two day duration and it costs `2,500. All the levels can’t be learnt at one go. Each level should be followed a by a month of practice. Sangeetha says it takes around six months to master all the levels.

The foundation also conducts charity activities like free healing camps, clothing and feeding the hungry, medical supplies for the sick etc. One of Sangeetha’s dreams is to see people doing “The Twin Heart meditation (an advanced meditation technique aimed at achieving illumination or universal consciousness) in large groups in order to bless our state with clean water, clean air and a greener Chennai.” And adds, “We can make the change, all we have to do is to come together as one in spirit and purpose.”
