Thinking New Age

It is not compulsory to keep thinking. Information-based thinking leads only to more thoughts. Keep only those thoughts that will reform and transform you.

Your personality is a mansion,  which is built with the bricks of your thoughts, and nothing else. It is cemented and plastered also by your thoughts, given a roof and you live there among your thoughts. The front door is full of thoughts, so is the back door. Your life is full of  thoughts, thoughts and thoughts. So who are you? You are Mr. Thought. You are Mrs. Thought. You are Ms. Thought. What are these thoughts? They are what your experience has given you. What is this experience? Someone else’s thoughts imposed on you is an experience.  So, your thoughts become an experience for someone else and when someone else’s thoughts reach you, it becomes an experience for you. If the thought is monetary in nature, the experience becomes monetary. If it is profitable in nature, the experience becomes profitable. If you have a healthy thought, then the experience becomes healthy. So your life is nothing but thoughts. You are heading towards a disaster called thoughts. What are these thoughts? The more you think the more thought processes you generate. As you generate more thought processes, your life heads towards a dead end.

Shri-Shri-Nimishananda.jpgThe process of the body’s decay can never be halted because it is a natural process. As there is metabolism, after an age, there is also catabolism. This ultimately leads to decay and death. Anything in excess also causes decay. As your never ending stream of thoughts bombard you, your whole being decays; but your thoughts never die. This is because you are storing them within your atman, namely the soul, which God has given you.

Thinking.jpgOnce you leave your mortal coils, these thoughts accompany you. This collection is called the mind. Today most of us are operating at the level of our lower mind which consists of base feelings and emotions. We must understand that operating at this level leads to roga or disease while operating from the higher mind leads us towards yoga or divine action. This is because the latter means we will be operating with determination, grit, faith and belief to achieve success.  God’s grace works when we operate thus. High intellectual power combined with divine thinking or intuition leads us towards enlightenment, the reason why to adapt the essence of goodness in our life, we have to shift into a higher gear of thinking. We have to start operating from our higher mind.

Thinking always crowds the mind. As you think more, it occupies more space leaving you confused and indecisive. It occupies your precious, inner and creative space. Be miserly and almost conservative towards unwanted thinking. Normally, thought processes are an endless chain. It chains and binds our mind to our mental garbage bin. Think only necessary thoughts. Identify an unwanted thought immediately and reject it with the resolve, “I need not think like this”. Remember, it is not compulsory to keep thinking. Think smart and think effectively.

Adopt the habit of ‘New Age Thinking’. Information-based thinking leads only to thoughts and more thoughts. Keep only thoughts that reform and transform you. Like while reading a newspaper you only absorb the relevant news and reject the frivolous items; a free, inspiring and a creative mind does not clutter the inner space.

Next time you have a needless thought, remember the new age mantra, “I will not think like this! I should only think positively and effectively.”
