All of creation is run on prana shakti—the shakti that exists in its every aspect. It is a vibration that originates from brahma, the subtlest of frequencies. When prana originated, the frequency level started changing. Prana divided itself into five frequencies of the five elements—prithvi, jal, akash, vayu, and agni. These elements then combined together in various permutations and combinations to form different things in creation including our body.

Our body is a combination of the varying prana frequencies in the form of the five elements. From time to time, this combination varies from person to person; and in the same person, too. These elements make one woman pretty while another not so; cause one man to be healthy and another to be diseased. When one element increases in frequence, one or all the others diminish accordingly, as the sum total is constant. At the level of prana, it is clairvoyantly seen as a change in frequency from the subtler to grosser or visa versa, from golden to brown or the reverse.

The science of yog and Sanatan Kriya helps a being to reach an optimal balance at the elemental level. This slight correction makes a yogi the centre of attraction of all creation. Let me explain to you the process of evolution in a human being. The ratio of the five elements in the body of a normal person is 5:4:3:2:1— five is earth and 1 is ether. When the earth element starts reducing and the ether element starts rising, the being moves from a basic level of existence and starts exuding the glow and attraction associated with subtler forms such as that of a yogi. The transformation may be understood from the example of Rishi Valmiki who changed overnight from a dacoit to a gyani, and gave us the great epic Ramayana. When the earth element reduces then the influence of physical attachments or maya also reduce. When the akash or the ether element increases you have the experience or realization of what creation is all about. You cannot understand the etheric world just by sitting and listening to discourses. To experience it, the ratio of these elements would change because the basic tattvas cannot grant you higher experiences. The body of a human being is based on these elements and a slight change will make the entire form of body change, not just mentally but physically, too.

Tattva shuddhi is a potent Sanatan Kriya technique through which one can bring about subtle changes in the frequency of elements through certain chants and etheric purifications, helping the elements in the body to attain purer states. To bring about any such change, a disturbance is created or the earlier constitution is dissolved. At every chakra, the existing gross elements and their senses are made to dissolve and then are reconstructed. This process is called tattva shuddhi.

Its immediate results are health, beauty, glow and attraction. As one progresses in the practice under the sanidhya of guru and the intensity of the practice increases, he/she is able to restore the elements to original constitution/frequency as they are manifested from the subtlest prana. Then the being is said to have gained control over the tattvas, the tattvas of the body being in union with tattvas in creation, its various aspects connected to each other through the five elements by way of collective consciousness. It is through its power that yogis are able to manifest thoughts and events at any given time or place, without being present physically.
