Voter turnout was recorded at 72 per cent in Rajasthan, which went to polls on Friday. Over 2,000 candidates are in the fray for 199 assembly seats to determine whether the BJP bucks anti-incumbency and an increasingly aggressive opposition to return to power.
Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje cast her vote at Jhalrapatan constituency in Jhalawar. Talking to the reporters, Raje said, "From a party worker to a minister, everyone has worked very hard to raise their flag in the state."
Asked about Sharad Yadav's comment on her weight, Raje said, "I am extremely shocked and I feel insulted. Congress should watch what they talk."
Vasundhara Raje hopes to return as the chief minister, breaking a 25-year-old jinx. Former CM Ashok Gehlot or Sachin Pilot will take the top post if Congress wins.
