Raghunbar Das for making Yoga mandatory for all households

Das said that people of Jharkhand are committed towards it and appealed that everyone, right from government officials to common man, should practice Yoga.

RANCHI: Chief Minister Raghunbar Das has said that Yoga should be made mandatory for all households.  Das while performing Yoga along with 10000 others at Prabhat Tara Maidaan in Ranchi on the occasion of fourth International Yoga Day on Thursday also reiterated the commitment of people of Jharkhand towards the age old tradition of keeping oneself fit.

Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was also present as Chief Guest during the occasion. Das talking to the media persons after the programme said that people of Jharkhand are committed towards it and appealed that everyone, right from government officials to common man, should practice Yoga to remain fit and healthy.

"Yoga also helps to manage your budget as it makes you fit and the money spent on medical expenses could be spent on the education of your children or some other constructive purposes," said the CM. Yoga should be made mandatory for every household, he added.

The Chief Minister also handed over appointment letter to Yogacharya Archana Kumari, who has several national and international medals in Yoga. She has also been felicitated the prestigious 'Yoga Sundari' title. The State Government had promised government job to her three years back.
