The district magistrate said that after the preliminary investigation, it was found that both the engineers concerned were guilty of not supervising the construction of the bridge properly.
The incident occurred while workers were engaged in construction on the bridge on Gonava Road near Harnaut Bazar in Nalanda. Local residents blamed poor construction quality for the collapse.
