After the recovery of the human remains, it was handed over to the police and cases of Unnatural Death Report(UDR) were registered at Dharmasthala police station.
Based on C N Chinnaiah's complaint, police registered the Dharmasthala case last July, after which the state formed an SIT under DGP Pronab Mohanty to probe it.
