Gauri Lankesh was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants outside her home in Rajarajeshwari Nagar police station limits on the night of September 5, 2017.
A two-judge bench of the top court in their order said that the court doesn't find any merit in the appeal filed by the younger sister of journalist Gauri Lankesh.
All major political parties, except Shinde's Shiv Sena, had fielded candidates against Shrikant Pangarkar, who defeated his nearest rival, Raosaheb Dhoble of the BJP.
