US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, who attended the meeting, highlighted the significance of the engagement and announced that Rubio is expected to visit New Delhi next month.
The investigations will determine whether those acts, policies, and practices are unreasonable or discriminatory and burden or restrict US commerce, the USTR said in a statement on Wednesday.
Christopher Landau, Deputy Secretary of the US Department of State said that the partnership between United States and India must rest on reciprocity, mutual respect and shared interests.
