The CM said the government is ready to discuss constitutionally valid demands, while Jarange has set September 12 as the deadline for action on Kunbi certificates.
Protesters, however, appeared to be resisting police intervention, citing that their vehicles, including trucks and tempos, carried essentials such as food and water.
Jarange Patil has been staging a protest at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, accompanied by thousands of Maratha supporters, to press for their reservation demands.
