Mohammad Eteshamul Haque will contest from Nandigram in Purba Medinipur district as the rebel TMC candidate, while Safiuddin Sheikh has been nominated from Rejinagar in Murshidabad.
Claiming that irregularities ensured the BJP's victory, CPI(M) Bengal secretary Mohammed Salim said CM Suvendu had announced the margin of victory even before polling took place.
The BJP established substantial leads in both constituencies, with margins of 1,06,513 votes in Nandigram and 55,583 votes in Muslim-majority Rejinagar, as counting continued.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, reacting to the BJP's performance at the state secretariat Nabanna on Friday, said voters across religious communities had supported his party.
