

BENGALURU: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday announced that his government will construct 100 houses for victims of landslide-hit Wayanad. Congress Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi appreciated the CM for his su pport to the people in his constituency.
“In light of the tragic landslide in Wayanad, Karnataka stands in solidarity with Kerala. I have assured CM Pinarayi Vijayan of our support and announced that Karnataka will construct 100 houses for the victims. Together, we will rebuild and restore hope, “ the CM stated on X.
The CM told the media that he has assured his Kerala counterpart that Karnataka will extend all help to them. He said 100 houses will be built in Wayanad. The exact location of the houses and cost will be decided later, he said.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi appreciated Siddaramaiah for coming forward to help people in Wayanad. “I am deeply grateful to the people and the Government of Karnataka for their generous support during these difficult times in Wayanad. Your commitment to building 100 houses for the victims of the tragic landslide is a significant step towards rehabilitation efforts. The compassion and solidarity of Indians are the strengths that Wayanad needs right now,” he stated.
Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also thanked the CM and people of Karnataka for the gesture of compassion and humanity.
