IDUKKI: Abhimanyu's parents on Friday alleged the gruesome murder of the 20-year-old SFI leader at the Maharaja's College in Ernakulam was a pre-planned one. Speaking to media persons at their home at Vattavada near Munnar in Idukki, Abhimayu's father Manoharan said police should take necessary steps to probe into the conspiracy behind the murder.
Abhimanyu came home from Kochi to attend the DYFI village conference at Vattavada. But he was busy attending frequent phone calls from Kochi, said Abhimayu's brother Darijith. He said somebody was forcing Abhimanyu to reach the hostel in Kochi at the earliest. He alleged Abhimanyu was called back to be killed. Abhimanyu planned to reach hostel by Monday morning.
But under someone's compulsion, he left for the college on Sunday itself in a vehicle carrying vegetables. He reached his hostel by night on that day, said Darijith. He alleged there was a conspiracy to stab him to death, when he came out of the hostel.
A section of the media had earlier reported a team forcibly brought Abhimanyu out of the hostel before he was stabbed to death allegedly by Popular Front of India- Campus Front activists.
