BJP has pitted B Sriramulu against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Badami constituency (Bagalkot district) and this has propelled him to the stature of a state leader. Speaking to The New Indian Expres
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was accorded a traditional welcome by people in more than 100 bullock carts as he arrived in Badami.
Hitting out at the BJP leaders for their taunt that he was contesting from Badami out of fear of defeat in Chamundeshwari, he pointed out that even PM Modi has contested from two seats in 2014.
The BJP is said to have decided to field B Sriramulu, MP and close aide of mining baron G Janardhana Reddy against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Badami.
Siddaramaiah has continued to keep mum about his decision to contest the upcoming elections from Badami besides Chamundeshwari constituency.
