Madhabarida in Ganjam district and Nayagarh received the highest 80 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours ending 8.30 pm on Sunday, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Under its influence, on November 10, heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy rainfall is likely in specific regions of Tamil Nadu, and neighboring Union Territory areas of Puducherry and Karaikal.
Likely to cause rainfall in northern regions like Chennai, Villupuram, Cuddalore and delta areas of Mayiladuthurai and Nagapattinam districts besides neighbouring Puducherry and Kariakkal on Monday.
The regional Met office said rainfall activity will increase in Odisha from Saturday, October 16, 2021, onwards.
The low pressure system is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression in the subsequent 48 hours, said the IMD on Friday.
