As per the rules, private recognised unaided schools which were allotted plots by the government need to admit children from EWS category in the neighbourhood to the extent of 20 per cent.
The same rules apply for initial appointments in posts and services under the State government.
Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, at least 25 per cent of seats in entry-level classes nursery, kindergarten, and Class 1 have to be reserved for the EWS category.
