There is a possibility of minimum temperatures dropping to 5 degree Celsius in a few parts of the State.
Minimum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 17 to 21 degrees, while the maximum temperatures to be in the range of 30 and 33 degrees in the next three days.
The prevailing weather conditions are attributed to the trough, which is running from the cyclonic circulation associated with the depression over north Tamil Nadu to interior Odisha.
Weathermen said partly cloudy sky and hazy conditions are likely to prevail during morning hours.
Personnel from Malakpet traffic police station cleared the way for two ambulances that were stuck in a traffic jam caused by the heavy rain, by directing them to the adjacent lane.
The temperature increase has been stark when compared to the first week of August when temperatures were near 30-31 degrees Celsius. Temperatures have been hovering around 34 degrees since then.
