Eastern Ladakh: Army strengthens dominance in over 20 strategic heights; Rafale jets set to scan air space
The deployment of French-made Rafale jets in Ladakh came less than 10 days after they were formally inducted into the IAF.
The first batch five Rafale aircraft had landed at the Air Force Station in Ambala from France on July 27.
The Rafales are armed with Meteor beyond visual range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) and Scalp cruise missile.
The first squadron of the aircraft will be stationed at Ambala air force station, considered one of the most strategically located bases of the IAF.
