All you need to know about India’s 3rd Vande Bharat Express

PM Modi flagged off the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express semi-high-speed train. This is the third Vande Bharat Express in the country. The first such train was started on the New Delhi-Varanasi route, and the second one on the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra route. The latest semi-high-speed train is being dubbed ‘Vande Bharat 2.0, because of certain upgrades it has received over its predecessors.

Mumbai rains 2022: IMD issues orange alert, predicts heavy rains for next 5 days

With many states facing power shortages due to a coal crunch, Indian Railways has cancelled more than 650 passenger and express train trips to facilitate the movement of freight trains to power generation plants. Apart from the cancellation of train trips, the routes of 42 passenger trains have also been diverted in many parts of the country to facilitate the transport of coal. Indian Railways said that this plan is set to be in force for 2 months in order to avoid coal crisis during the monsoon months that see less mining.

Bihar: Train set on fire at Gaya station during protests over railway jobs

A passenger train was set on fire in Bihar by protesting railway job aspirants over the recruitment exams. A crowd stormed the Gaya Junction, raising slogans, and set fire to the Bhabhua-Patna Inter-City Express, though nobody was injured. The agitated protesters vandalised trains and pelted stones. Stones could be seen all over the platform at the railway station.
