MIS-C occurs two to six weeks after recovery from Covid-19 in children, with symptoms of inflammation, fever, multi-organ dysfunction.
At present, 35 such cases have been detected in Ballari and Vijayanagara districts, and the infected children are under treatment at Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital.
The state government on Tuesday included four treatment procedures for Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) under the YSR Aarogyasri scheme.
It is an unregulated hyper immune response typically found in children as a reaction to inflammation in the body, doctors said.
At least 15 cases of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children have been reported in the district in the last two weeks.
Experts say some children with asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 have also developed this disease.
He said that early treatment was the best option and any delay could lead to loss of life.
