Total active cases are 5,16,632 after a decrease of 4,141 in last 24 hours. Total cured cases are 78,19,887 with 53,920 new discharges.
"Experts believe that a second wave may come prior to December 15 this year, so people have to be very cautious, wear masks, maintain social distancing and wash hands frequently to keep themselves safe," Sharma said in a statement.

Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded 532 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths, raising the tally to 98,337 and the number of fatalities to 1,528, officials said. Out of the fresh cases, 208 were from the Jammu division and 324 from the Kashmir Valley, they said.
Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district recorded 145 new COVID-19 patients on Saturday that pushed its infection tally to 19,162, official data showed. The number of active cases came down to 1,439, the third highest in the state, from 1,519 the previous day, according to the data released by the UP Health Department for a 24-hour period.
Andhra Pradesh reported 2,367 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, taking the caseload to 8,40,730 while 11 more fatalities pushed the toll to 6,779. Three people in Krishna, two each in Chittoor and Anantapur and one each in East Godavari, Kadapa, Visakhapatnam and West Godavari districts died due to the virus, a health department bulletin said.

The addition of 668 fresh cases of coronavirus has taken the tally of infections in Maharashtra's Thane district to 2,15,070, an official said on Saturday. Apart from the latest cases detected on Friday, the district also recorded 15 deaths that have raised the toll to 5,424, the official said.
Puducherry recorded a dip in the daily count of coronavirus cases with 73 fresh infections on Saturday, taking the overall tally to 35,744. Three people, including a 55 year old woman from Yanam died due to the virus, pushing the toll to 601.

West Bengal Tourism Minister Gautam Deb tested positive for COVID-19, following which he was hospitalised, Health Department officials said on Saturday.
Deb undertook the COVID test after he was feeling unwell, they said. His test result came in as positive on Friday, officials said, adding that he was admitted to a hospital in Siliguri.
At least 81 more people, including five security personnel and six health workers, tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, pushing the tally in the state to 15,325, an official said.

The coronavirus situation in Maharashtra, where the infection count has crossed the 17 lakh-mark so far, appears to be improving gradually as the last one lakh cases were added over a period of 16 days as compared to the earlier average period of less than 10 days.
While the case count had crossed the 16-lakh mark on October 20, the infection tally reached 17,03,444 on November 5. According to officials, this is the third slowest growth period as far as addition of one lakh cases is concerned since the outbreak began in March this year.
In the state, which remains the hardest-hit in the country by the pandemic, the number of single-day infection cases has come down in the range of 4,000 to 7,000 in the last couple of weeks after witnessing 20,000-plus daily cases for a sustained period in September. (READ FULL REPORT HERE)

Over a three-month period, a group of neurologists observed disease features and outcomes in 62 stroke patients from 13 hospitals across Bangalore, and compared them with 111 stroke patients they had treated during the same three months last year.
Their findings showed an unusually high proportion of patients — one in four, or 16 of the 62 (26%) — did not have conventional risk factors for stroke such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease or diabetes.

Assam reported 335 new COVID-19 cases and 926 discharges on Friday, taking the total number of cases in the state to 2,08,389, said State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The total number of cases include 2,00,381 discharges and 938 deaths. The number of active cases stands at 7,067.
