Justifying her action, Mayawati said Akash still needed to become more mature and that it would not be appropriate to give him a major responsibility in the party.
Akash was expelled from the party on March 3, which resulted in his removal from the post of BSP national coordinator and as Mayawati’s successor in the party.
In a BSP meeting on Sunday, Akash was relieved from all responsibilities as he was under the continuous influence of his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth.
His remarks come after Mayawati decided to divest him of his responsibilities as the party's national coordinator and her "successor", barely five months after she had anointed him.
