Gogoi said the protest would continue until the government agreed to his demands, including Rs 10 lakh compensation for each flood-affected family in Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat and Golaghat.
The protesters alleged that several affected families were yet to receive sufficient government assistance despite suffering damage to their homes, agricultural land, crops, and other property.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the government had been in touch with the families of the missing persons and coordinating with agencies to ensure their safety
