The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces have witnessed a surge in militant attacks in recent years, prompting security forces to intensify counter-terrorism operations.
ISPR said operations across Quetta, Ziarat, Noshki and Mand targeted banned militant groups, while 12 workers were abducted from a construction site in Duki.
The latest operation came just over a week after Balochistan's CM ruled out negotiations with insurgents and said security operations would continue until militancy was eliminated from the province.
Provinces bordering Afghanistan have witnessed an uptick in terror activities, primarily targeting civilians. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are the most affected provinces in Pakistan.
Insurgents demanding independence for Balochistan have been alleging political marginalisation and exploitation of the province's natural resources by the central government.
