The trouble erupted after Opposition members created a ruckus inside the Assembly and alleged that Nitish Kumar was governing through guns and bullets, attempting to suppress people’s voices.
The opposition was protesting against the lathi charge on village 'chowkidars' (watchmen) in Patna, when they were staging a demonstration to press the demand for a hike in stipends.
As the uproar increased, Speaker Prem Kumar intervened and directed that the word “Brahmin” be expunged from the official proceedings of the assembly in order to restore order in the House.
A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi directed the party to approach the Patna High Court with its grievances.
