India quickly swung into action after the WHO on Sunday declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda a “public health emergency of international concern”.
The Ebola response is unfolding in a conflict-hit region where displacement by armed groups has made it harder for health workers to trace the outbreak.
The official asserted that the government continues to maintain close coordination with international health authorities and will take all necessary measures to safeguard public health.
