Many teachers say they were pulled away from schools and offices and personal commitments, working long hours under difficult conditions, only to be left chasing payments.
The Karnataka Government Employees’ Association has urged the State to exempt teachers appearing for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test for assistant professor posts from ongoing survey duties.
Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister DK Shivakumar said that the deadline for the survey has been extended till October 31 in the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) limits.
The couple is legally entitled to refuse participation in the survey, as Karnataka HC ruled it is not mandatory and enumerators cannot compel answers from the public.
