The chargesheet that was filed before the Neyyattinkara Judicial First Class Magistrate Court (VII) court levelled charges of rape and attempt to murder against the Congress MLA.
Eldhose, the sole breadwinner of the Knacherry Kodiyatt family, reached Urulanthanni in a KSRTC bus at 8pm on Monday and was walking home when he was trampled to death by a wild elephant.
The charge of attempt-to-murder was added against the MLA, who is still on the run, on the basis of the confessional statement the victim had recorded before the Magistrate.
