Satheesan has raised the stakes himself. Quite dramatically so. He has promised to quit and go on “vanavaas” if he fails to deliver a “sparkling win” for the Congress-led UDF.
As the state heads to elections on April 9, the key question is whether Satheesan can repeat this success statewide and in Paravur, where he faces a strong challenger.
Within the CPM, the idea of seat swap gained traction following growing demands that, in order to weaken VD Satheesan, the party should take over the Paravur constituency.
The invitation came from CPM leader K J Shine at Women’s Resistance, a programme inaugurated by senior leader K K Shailaja on Wednesday to protest cyberattacks targeting women.
