According to sources, Andhra Pradesh may shelve the Polavaram–Banakacherla proposal and is instead planning to use Polavaram as the offtake point for the Godavari–Cauvery interlink project.
The PPA reiterated that the project lies outside its jurisdiction, and advised the officials to approach the Godavari River Management Board or the Central Water Commission instead on the issue.
