The India Meteorological Department has forecast the southwest monsoon's arrival in Kerala within the next two to three days, with conditions favourable for its advance across parts of southern India.
IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said the south-west monsoon has covered Andaman Nicobar Islands, Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and surrounding areas.
The India Meteorological Department indicated that the monsoon is likely to reach the Andaman and Nicobar Islands around May 16 — four days ahead of its normal onset date.
