Canara Bank 'cheated' of Rs 174.89 crore: CBI searches premises of Punjab Basmati Rice Ltd in Amritsar
The CBI carried out searches at the premises of Punjab Basmati Rice Limited and its directors, booked for allegedly cheating the Canara Bank to the tune of Rs 174.89 crore.
The Amritsar man, a retired superintending engineer at the civic body there, had died at a private hospital on Monday.
The tourists have been quarantined in their hotel rooms as a precaution, Amritsar Civil Surgeon Prabhdeep Kaur told the media.
The court also slapped fine ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 on former DIG Kultar Singh, DSP Hardev Singh, Parminder Kaur and others.
The prisoners who escaped have been identified as 34-year old Gurpreet Singh, 25-year old Jarnail Singh, who are brothers hailing from Tarantarn and 22-year-old Vishal Kumar from Amritsar.
The electoral body had earlier ordered re-polling at the polling booth of Amritsar Parliamentary constituency due to negligence during the polling process.
