The U-Girder, a component of the elevated viaducts constructed for Metro corridors, was erected near the Kali Mata Temple between the upcoming Pushpanjali and Deepali Chowk Metro stations.
The Blue Line is operational between Dwarka Sector 21 to Vaishali/Noida Electronic City and the Pink Line is operational between Shiv Vihar and Mukundpur Depot.
Rajiv Chowk, despite being one of the busiest stations, has ensured that all precautions are in place as per the standard operating procedures, Kailash Gahlot said.
As per the CISF plan, only minimum gates at stations will remain operational and all the other gates will remain closed.

The elevated stations for which the U girders are being installed are Sangam Vihar, Khanpur-Devoli, Ambedkar Nagar and Saket-G.
The upcoming bridge will further connect the Soorghat and Sonia Vihar Metro Station of the Majlis Park – Maujpur corridor.
The loan was given to the Delhi Metro at a concessional rate of interest varying from 1.2 per cent to 2.3 per cent, and was repayable in 30 years with a moratorium of 10 years.
Azadpur, Dhaula Kuan, Janakpuri West, Netaji Subhash Place are interchange stations, while Samaypur Badli and Majlis Park are terminals with footfall of 50,000-60,000 commuters daily.
The length of the new Metro will be 45 metres with 3 coaches and it will run at a speed of 60 kmph.
It will also be run on digital screens at major stations like Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Central Secretariat, Chandni Chowk, New Delhi.
The loop operation will be from Vishwavidyalaya to Samaypur Badli and from Kashmere Gate to HUDA City Centre during the period.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Wednesday extended e-rickshaw services to 12 Metro stations, taking the total tally of stations with the facility to 29.
Due to rocky strata found at the location, the bridge will be constructed using Piling Method instead of Well Foundation method, the DMRC official explained.
