Satheesan alleged that a group, with the help of certain media outlets, had sought to discredit the UDF government led by him even before it completed three months in office.
He said society has started including women in areas and initiatives that were traditionally focused only on men, describing the change as a sign of progress.
Adding to the discomfort, videos of Satheesan assuring protesters at Thottappally that mineral sand mining would be halted if the UDF came to power have resurfaced on social media.
