Under the revised national criteria announced in January 2022, Karnataka has nearly 2 crore citizens deemed eligible, as the coverage base was expanded targeting the bottom 40% of the population.
The Ayushman Vayo-Vandana Yojana will be extended to all individuals above 70 years of age, regardless of their economic status, providing free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per family annually.
