Senior police officers visited the blast sites to assess the situation, with combing and search operations underway in the surrounding areas, Manipur Police said.
The convicts relied on the Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines, arguing that prisoners become eligible for consideration of premature release after completing 20 years of incarceration.
According to the agency, Yasir Ahmad Dar allegedly played an active role in the conspiracy behind the blast and had taken an oath for carrying out self-sacrificial operations.
