This comes amidst Supreme Court order issued on September 21 directing a fresh probe into the rape and murder of 17-year-old Sowjanya at Ujire in Belthangady taluk.
After the recovery of the human remains, it was handed over to the police and cases of Unnatural Death Report(UDR) were registered at Dharmasthala police station.
Based on C N Chinnaiah's complaint, police registered the Dharmasthala case last July, after which the state formed an SIT under DGP Pronab Mohanty to probe it.
