Padmakumar was arrested by the SIT for allegedly fabricating the TDB documents to show that the gilded sheets of the dwarapalaka idols and the door frames were mere copper sheets.
Padmakumar had already gotten statutory bail in the case related to the alleged misappropriation of gold from the door frames of the sanctum sanctorum at the temple.
Once all their statements are recorded, the cops will verify whether the allegations of misappropriation are true. If they are, an FIR will be registered.
As per the HC-appointed SIT’s assessment, the Kollam court’s remarks in the tantri’s bail order could adversely affect the ongoing probe, sources said.
