The 62-year-old leader, thrust into the political spotlight following the passing of the senior NCP figure, polled 2,18,969 votes, winning by a margin of 2,18,034.
Speaking for the first time on the crash, she said that she had many questions in her mind about the incident and that the doubts had to be cleared through a fair and impartial investigation.
NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar and NCP (SP) leader Yugendra Pawar, who had contested against Ajit Pawar in the previous election, are now campaigning for Sunetra Pawar in Baramati.
Sunetra said efforts are underway to persuade the Congress to withdraw its candidate, with senior NCP leader Praful Patel reaching out to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
