Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari expected to outline UCC framework as House takes up key legislations on reservations, public order and anti-social activities
The government has constituted a five-member committee headed by Justice (Retd.) Ranjana Prakash Desai to review the existing legal framework and prepare a roadmap for the UCC.
The state government said the proposed law on marriage, divorce, inheritance and adoption will apply uniformly across communities and be shaped through consultations.
The committee, comprising experts from multiple fields, will visit districts to gather feedback and engage with representatives of different communities, the Chief Minister said.
