The decision follows KSCA failing to implement corrective measures recommended in the aftermath of the stampede during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) victory celebrations.

“To avoid any future incidents, we have put in place precautionary measures. We have granted permission accordingly,” Shivakumar, who also holds the Bengaluru Development portfolio, said.

The court stated that the Commission was set up by the government on June 5, 2025, as a fact-finding body.

The decision followed a horrific stampede near the stadium during RCB’s victory celebrations on June 4, in which 11 people died and 71 people were injured.

RCB had also announced financial support of Rs 10 lakh to each of the 11 families of the deceased as ‘a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity’.
