According to sources, the strike could disrupt food delivery and quick commerce services of Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, Instamart and Zepto on New Year’s Eve, when demand typically peaks.
The move comes as delivery workers across several cities have been urged to log out of apps on December 31, one of the busiest days of the year for food and quick-commerce deliveries.
An official release said the protest was against unsafe working conditions, unfair pay, ID blocking and denial of dignity and social security to gig workers across the country.
