The investigation suffered a setback after the first accused, Dr M K Ram, was released by the Thalassery Principal District & Sessions Court on July 20.
The investigating officer has been directed to appear before the High Court on Friday with all records produced before the Sessions Court when the accused was remanded.
Ram was taken into custody by the Kannur crime branch from Coorg in Karnataka on July 19 in connection with the death of Nithin, 22, a native of Puthukulangara in Thiruvananthapuram.
