Air India is in the process of paying the interim compensation of Rs 25 lakh, and would also offer Rs 10 lakh in addition to the final compensation to each of the families, sources said on Thursday.
In a post on X, the MP said, “New material inputs have emerged after preliminary findings. I am now seeking clarity and accountability. Transparency cannot be optional.”
Prashant Bhushan, lawyer for Safety Matters Foundation, argued that accidents resulting in serious loss of lives require a court of enquiry and not just an AAIB investigation.
The court issued notices to the Centre, the DGCA, and other parties after hearing a plea filed by Pushkaraj seeking the formation of a judicially monitored probe into the tragic accident.
