Loni, in Ghaziabad, is the most polluted city in the world, with a PM2.5 concentration of 112.5 µg/m³, which represents a nearly 23% increase from the previous year.
The AIRCARE study, which the institution claimed is the first of its kind, is being led by Dr Abhishek Shankar, Assistant Professor, Radiation Oncology, AIIMS.
Taking a swipe at PM Modi, Jairam Ramesh said, "PM 56-inch has been exposed, PM2.5 is for real," pointing out that the National Clean Air Programme needs a laser-like focus on PM2.5.
