Transport services were hit and passengers arriving at railway station and airport were left stranded. Commercial establishments remained closed too in the city.
The procession was stopped near the Election Commission office by barricades and a heavy police deployment. Tejashwi Yadav attempted to cross the barricades but was stopped by police.
