The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Monday unanimously adopted a special resolution reaffirming that "Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu" must be sung first at all functions in the state.
Raising concerns over frequent arrests of state fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy, the CM said 12 incidents were reported this year, with 58 fishermen jailed and 266 boats seized.
The absence of the National Anthem and Tamil Thai Vazhthu was notable, particularly in the context of established protocol at official government functions.
