The IMD issued an orange alert for nine districts and a yellow alert for four and warned of thunderstorms, lightning and spells of extremely heavy rain in some areas.
Data recorded between June 1 and July 21 show that the state's overall rainfall was only about four per cent below normal, a variation considered to be within the normal range.
The route was already blocked at two locations near Pangbave due to heavy rain, and the latest landslide has left debris at three points, complicating restoration work.
