According to sources, Karamveer (71), who was arrested in connection with the collapse, told investigators that he earned around Rs 10 lakh per month from the building’s four existing floors.
A Delhi Fire Service (DFS) official stated that personnel would stay at the site until the entire area is thoroughly cleared to ensure no one remains trapped beneath the rubble.
In the aftermath, grieving students, shaken survivors and devastated relatives remembered a woman whose greatest concern was always the young people she served.
Friends of the victims and locals alleged that the rescue operation could have progressed faster had authorities continued to involve locals familiar with the building and its occupants.
The building housed a coaching institute, cafes and offices, while construction work was reportedly underway on its upper floor at the time of the collapse.
